Vintage Faux Pearl Collar Necklace

Made in Japan vintage faux pearl collar necklace from mid-century.
 This adorable necklace was once exported to the U.S. from Japan and now back home. 
Looks glad that she is finally at home!!

数十年の年月を経て日本に里帰りしてきたmade in Japanの

フェイクパールの着け襟。

アコヤ真珠の陰に隠れてあまり知られていませんが

日本はフェイクパールの製造技術の高さで

世界に知られており、ミッドセンチュリーの時代には

こうしたフェイクパールの付け襟がアメリカへの輸出用に

盛んに作られていたそうです。

一見西洋育ちのお嬢様のような顔をしつつ、

最小３mmほどのベビーサイズのパールを丹念に

１つ１つ縫い留めて模様を描いた几帳面な手仕事に

やはり日本人の魂を感じさせます。

年を重ねてまろやかなシャンパンゴールドの

色合いを帯びたパールの優しい表情が魅力的な

付け襟。シンプルなベージュのクルーネックの

カットソーに合わせて春を楽しみたい気分です。
